Dravyaguna
INTRODUCTION
Dravyaguna
Dravyagun vigyan is an important discipline of Ayurveda that studies the source, identification, pharmacological properties, actions and clinical utility of medicinal plants, based on principles such as Rasa (taste), Guna (qualities), Virya (potency), Vipaka (post-digestive effect), and Prabhava (specific action).
Objectives
- To diagnose and treat acute, chronic, and cumulative toxicity arising from natural sources
- To identify sources of poisoning and implement preventative measures to protect healthy individuals from environmental toxins, food poisoning, and the detrimental effects of Dushi Visha (latent poison).
