Shalyatantra is the surgical branch of Ayurveda that deals with operative and para-surgical procedures. It includes the management of wounds, fractures, abscesses, piles, fistula, urinary stones, and other surgical conditions. This department is based on the principles laid down by Acharya Sushruta, known as the father of surgery. Students learn classical surgical instruments, operative techniques, wound management, and postoperative care along with modern surgical concepts.

Emphasis is given to Ksharasutra therapy, a unique Ayurvedic procedure widely used for anorectal disorders. The department provides theoretical knowledge and clinical exposure to develop surgical skills with a holistic Ayurvedic approach.
